Kotipeltoni menneestä elämästä on oikein kaupunginmuseon intendentti käynyt kertomassa Suurpelto-seuran historiailloissa! Pelloista on nyt muistona Suurpellon kiertoliittymän ”heinäpelto”, jossa tuuli tuivertaa kastikkaita. Peltomaisema ja sen pikkukylät ja kartanot ovat kadonneet: Smedsby, Dåvitsby, Hemtans, Kockby. Mutta tänne on nimetty rakkaiden vanhojen asukkaiden mukaan katuja ja kujia. Itsekin olen saanut Anna Bildstenin kujan, ja ukkokultani mukaan on nimetty Hans Floorin puisto. Oli muuten rykmentinkirjuri tuo minun Hansini ja isännöi kanssani Kockbyn Storaksen tilaa. Historia-aiheinen kävelyreittikin täällä on toteutettu. Jokunen vuosi sitten seura teki alueesta myös kävelykartan, jossa on kerrottu jänniä tietoja uudesta urbaanista alueesta ja on siihen printattu myös historiaa!
Rakentaminen etenee ja maisema muuttuu. Anna Bildstenin polun varren metsiköstä saatiin reilu viisi vuotta sitten joulukuuset joulun avaukseen. Nyt siinä kohoaa rivi taloja ja hoivakoti.
Asukkaita on kuulemma jo noin 5000. Lapsia vipeltää runsaasti, siitä minä tykkään. Toivottavasti kaikille löytyy oma paikka päiväkodista ja koulusta kodin läheltä.
Vähän jännittää millainen torni lintulammikon paikalle kohoaa. Entä muut alueet – saadaanko puistoa ja pihaa talojen väliin ja niin matalia taloja ettei päätä huimaa.

Anna B is fascinated about the history of Suurpelto
Could you imagine that there once was only a field and a few small cottages here! The Chief curator of Espoo City Museum told stories about my homefield at the Suurpelto history evening. The “hayfield” in the roundabout reminds me of the fields of Suurpelto, when the wind blows the hay. Now the field landscape , and its small hamlets and mansions are gone: Smedsby, Dåvitsby, Hemtans, Kockby. The names of the streets and alleys have got their names after former beloved residents. I’m honoured to have Anna Bildsten’s path here, and Hans Floor Park is named after my dear husband. By the way, my Hans was a regimental clerk and hosted Kockby’s Storas farm. A history-themed walking route has also been implemented by the association. A few years ago, the Suurpelto Association carried out a printed walking map of the area. It gives exciting information about the area of today and its history!
Construction work is in progress and the landscape is changing. Just over five years ago, Christmas trees were felled from the woods along Anna Bildsten’s path to the Christmas opening event. Now there’s a row of houses and a nursing home.
They say there live already about 5,000 residents here. There are lots of children and that’s what I like. Hopefully, everyone will have a place in kindergarten and school near their home.
I’m a little nervous about what kind of will rise in the place of the bird pond. What about other areas – can we get parks and cosy yards between the houses and houses so low that you don’t end up feeling dizzy.
